Need a CF-1R or CF-3R tomorrow?

HVAC change-out testing and Title 24 documentation for contractors. HERS/ECC field verification and paperwork — we do not install equipment. Results registered the same day when the registry allows. Site visits are scheduled, not same-day promises.

Third-party rater. If it fails, you hear it with numbers. We will not fake a pass.

Paid work

HVAC change-out testing plus Title 24 docs.

CF-1R at permit. CF-3R in the CHEERS registry. Ducts, airflow, and the forms the inspector is waiting on. Testing and paperwork, not a crew on your change-out.

How a job runs

No surprise measures the week of drywall.

California energy code is specific. We make each stakeholder’s role equally specific — then we show up and measure.

  1. 01

    Call or send the job

A permit set, a failing CF3R, a change-out that needs testing, or a building department that wants a class. We will tell you what we need and what we do not.

  2. 02

    Scope it in plain language

Which tests, which forms, which site visits, and who owns each signature. No surprise HERS/ECC measures the week of drywall.

  3. 03

    Show up and measure

Field work on the building’s schedule. Results registered the same day whenever the provider and the site allow it.

  4. 04

    Leave you with a path

A passing rating, a punch list, or a training deck — and a phone number that still works after the invoice.

Anchors Aweigh Energy was started in 2009 on a simple idea: detailed, unbiased information for the people who have to decide. The principals bring more than thirty years of building science and engineering. CEO Bruce Cheney has been instructing building departments on energy code since 2013.

The full story

Who books the test.

HVAC contractors

Change-out testing and Title 24 paperwork. CF-1R / CF-3R so the inspector can close the job. We do not install the unit.

Builders & trades

New construction, additions, changeouts. We keep the HERS/ECC path and the Title 24 path from colliding at inspection.

Architects & designers

Early advice on which measures you are triggering, so the details on sheet A-4.2 match the CF1R.

Building departments

No-cost Title 24 instruction for examiners, inspectors, and counter staff. Offered since 2013. Free through the utilities.
