Field verification

HERS ratings

Third-party Home Energy Rating System tests for new construction, additions, ADUs, and alterations — from a single-room cottage to a 27,000-square-foot estate.

A HERS rating is not a marketing score. In California it is the field proof that the house you drew is the house that got built. We test the envelope, the ducts, the airflow, and the insulation quality, then register the results so the building department can close the job.

Anchors Aweigh has rated celebrity mansions and low-income high-rise multifamily on the same calendar. The protocol does not change with the zip code. What changes is how we talk to the crew on site so the test happens once, cleanly, and nobody is guessing about a retest.

We work as a third party. If something fails, you hear it from us with numbers attached — not a shrug and a callback next month.

Ready when you are

If the energy code has you turned around, pick up the phone.

Anyone working construction in California feels the same way. We will tell you what is required, who signs what, and when to schedule the test.
