Currently, building departments are working with reduced budgets. Many building departments have reduced their staff, making it more difficult to perform all the required inspections. This leaves little time to stay up-to-date on new requirements.
This is where Anchors Aweigh Energy would like to help. As a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) certified rater, we want to assist your building department adhere to the new requirements of Title 24 Part 6 that came into effect January 1st, 2010. In addition to the information on this website we can provide customized training for your staff.
HERS raters are considered by the California Energy Commission as Special Inspectors for the building department. The verifications a HERS rater performs reduces the amount of inspections and specialized equipment a building department must store, service and maintain.
With the information a HERS rater provides, Home owners can benefit from lower energy bills, a more comfortable and healthy home, and higher property values.
